The view from Covenant Lakeside in Lubbock.
Examining stock prices and corporation sizes, it is worth more money to transmit content than create content. That’s just the reality.
But make no mistake, content is king.
This morning I met with media relations professionals at Covenant Health System, including Holly Kennedy, media relations coordinator.
It was an informal meeting of brainstorming about their social media presence, but we came up with some amazing ideas.
And there was one common theme: social and interactive media efforts need to be backed up with content.
It’s content that drives people to Weblogs, Facebook, and Twitter.
If I had a choice, I’d rather own Google than the New York Times. However, Google is nothing without your content.
So, Covenant already has a Twitter account, Web page, and have had a blog.
The trouble is — as I well know — is keeping content fresh.
We came up with some excellent ideas. I’ll keep you posted as they come on line.

Thanks Sam! All it takes is that first step right? We are meeting as a team this week to finalize plans before we take the plunge.
Thanks for stopping by, Holly. You’re going to see a lot more from me. I’m getting excited about new and innovative ways to connect health providers with the general public.
