Lots of things going on today, but I took a moment to snap a photo of our poor, young Live Oak tree bent at a near 45 degree angle due to the weight of the ice.
Tech closed for the day at 12:30 p.m.
When my wife picked up the kids at the elementary school, the power was out there.
Lovely.

Yeah, power outages all over the place…this is gonna be a fun weekend
The only thing I like about the snow is getting to take cool pictures. This is the snowiest and weirdest weather winter I’ve ever seen. It’s like it can’t make up it’s mind.
I walked through campus to get Gboy, and branches were down everywhere from the weight of ice literally just breaking them off — some of them huge branches. The snapping was so loud on one it sounded like a car backfiring. Be aware walking across campus when those trees are covered in heavy ice, getting hit by one of those things could cause a serious injury.
Your snow picture kicks my snow picture’s ass.
Thanks, Carm. Actually I wasn’t very thrilled with this one.
Allison, I wish I had not been in the midst of such a stupid cold. I would have ventured out more.
Bob, it’s amazing how powerful nature is. Something as seemingly trivial as water falling on a tree becomes violent and dangerous.
