Colleagues

The Communication & Cognition Lab

The Communication & Cognition Lab is at Texas Tech University. The lab is a part of the Center for Communication Research in the College of Mass Communications.

If you are interested in graduate study in mass communications -- especially with an emphasis in emotion, attention, or memory -- I encourage you to consider applying at Texas Tech University (see graduate program).

If you are interested in being a graduate student in the lab, apply through the regular process, and specify interest in Dr. Bradley for faculty research.

Undergraduate research assistants are sought every semester. If you are interested, please contact me.

Interesting Research Sites

Arguably the best part of research is the people you meet. As scientists we meet many fascinating people, and many of these people share a common interest or two. I have listed a handful of such people below.

If you are interested in learning more about communication and cognition, I invite you to visit Robert F. Potter's Web site, www.theaudioprof.com. There you will find PDFs of papers that help us understand how people psychologically process mediated messages -- especially audio.

Consulting

From time to time, lab members consult for research projects, providing guidance on experimental design and data analysis. Some small projects are still ongoing.

This lab has worked on U.S. Army funded research with an innovative research firm in Bloomington, Indiana, Information in Place. This company embodies what good things can happen when theory is properly applied.

If you have an interesting project, we would like to hear from you!
